MURDOCH MEDIA CENSORSHIP ON ISRAEL 

Comment on opinion piece by Claire Lehmann (of culture wars fame) published in The Australian newspaper, digital edition, February 14, 2026. 

Title of Ms Lehman’s  commentary:-

We made Grace Tame a hero.   Then we moved on. 

This was an ad hominem hit-piece on Grace Tame for her passionate stance against the Herzog visit to Australia.  

As an Australian of the Year award winner (for her earlier MeToo activism) Ms Tame - a feisty young leftist activist - had crossed the red line by using her influence & passion to oppose the “J and Z dominance” over our permitted attitudes relating to the issue of Israel, Gaza and Iran. 

Here (in italics) is the subscriber comment rejected by the moderators of the platform that markets itself as being at the forefront of free debate in the battle of ideas.  

The point is that the rejected comment is not bad, it complies with the platform’s terms and conditions, but it is simply too good.

 It exposes the sophisticated propaganda technique we’ve experienced practiced by the Murdoch media since and before the cross-border raid into Israel by militants from Gaza on October 7, 2023

That misconceived and miscalculated Hamas raid to grab hostages  was “allowed to happen” in order to create a pretext for the “final solution” of the Gaza problem.   That achieved, we are about to see the “final solution” of the Iran problem by the powerful forces.

This article evades the real issue. It focuses on Grace Tame the person and attempts psychoanalysis of her. It changes the subject. The subject is the approval of a visa to visit Australia for the president of nation that has been indicted by the International Criminal Court for the crime of genocide. So this article is in effect ad hominem. Grace Tame gave a passionate speech to the assembled crowd of Australian citizens. I would like to see her speech and her arguments discussed and counter-arguments put by commentator here. Instead all we get is a smear campaign to undermine her as a person whilst ignoring her arguments about the controversial visit to Australia. It reminds me of another young aspie Greta Thunberg. She was the darling of the left while she was used as a passionate advocate of global warming alarmism, as was Grace Tame when she was a passionate advocate of the MeToo movement, But once both young ladies used their celebrity status to support Palestinian rights and decry the genocide, they were condemned by the anti-woke right who support Israel. Antisemitism is not the issue. The real issue is the genocide in Gaza. Let’s stick to the subject.
